2018 Beer for History

Sponsored by Hoefle, Phoenix, Gormley, & Roberts, P.A.

Each event’s featured brewer will pour three of their beers, including one of their most popular. Brewers are looking for feedback, so this is a chance to talk with them directly!

Different programming will be ‘on tap’ at each event as we bring historic Folsom Tavern in downtown Exeter to life with Escape Room, Tavern Trivia , or Colonial Tavern Games. Our programs are family-friendly and kids are encouraged to explore our Children’s Exhibit. Lexie’s Burger Bus will be at all events selling their delicious food, too!

Our Sponsor

Founded in 1989, HPG&R has deep roots in Portsmouth, Exeter and the surrounding area. Sponsors of last year’s first Beer for History, HPG&R is excited to once again partner with the museum and local brewers to present a unique community event that will feature beer tastings, light fare, fun activities (Escape the Room, Historical Trivia and Pub Games), and more!

“We are excited to sponsor this series, which brings the community together in a spirit of festive fun,” said HPG&R Attorney Kevin Baum, who is also an Exeter resident. “Local beer and food in a great spot in downtown Exeter–you cannot go wrong.”

Celebrate History with a Beer

All events take place at historic Folsom Tavern (c.1775) in downtown Exeter, 164 Water Street–directly across from scenic Swasey Parkway.

Proceeds benefit the American Independence Museum, which cares for more than 3,000 historic artifacts and educates more than 5,600 visitors on site each year.

When you have a beer with us, you help us preserve and educate others on our nation’s rich history.

Parking is available in the Museum parking lot on Spring Street, Exeter Municipal Lots, and street parking on Water Street. Please note that beer service will take place on the second floor of the Folsom Tavern. Due to the historic nature of the building, it is not handicap accessible.
