ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Did you know you can eat dandelions? Discover how America’s early colonists used a variety of greens grown and harvested, including herbs and flowers, to create salads. Join us as we use the last of the seasons’ greens to create and eat a delicious and historically accurate salad.
In addition, learn about urban foraging today from Leslie Stevens, a UNHCE Master Gardener, Natural Resources Steward, and owner of Sturgeon Creek Farm in Eliot, Maine. Leslie has been teaching children and their families to grow food for over 10 years. She is currently on the boards of Seacoast Permaculture and Seacoast Eat Local.
The program will take place on both the first and the second floor of the Folsom Tavern. Due to the historic nature of the building, it is not handicap or stroller accessible.
