Sign up to attend the American Independence Festival for free!

July 13, 10 am to 4 pm, in Exeter, NH

Your organization has made an investment in the American Independence Museum, so it is our turn to invest in YOU!

Food and Music

Experience the sounds of traditional music throughout museum grounds and feel the beat of Fifes and Drums as they march. Enjoy a bite from local food trucks on Swasey Parkway and at local restaurants in Exeter!

Historic Encampments

Visitors can roam the museum’s grounds to see colonial living in action, learn to muster, play colonial games, and more. Stroll down to Swasey Parkway where cannons boom and British and Patriot Militia encampments are stationed.

Re-enactments & Portrayals

Enjoy a recreation of the 1776 delivery of NH’s copy of the Declaration of Independence with a costumed rider, hecklers, and more. Later, view a battle portrayal on Swasey Parkway.

Independence Ale by Cisco!

We are proud to continue our  partnership with Cisco to offer Independence Ale in Folsom Tavern. Enjoy this special brew in the very room where George Washington once ate breakfast and adjoining beer garden.

Museum Tours

Our Ladd-Gilman House is open with priceless items for one day only viewing! See the first printed copy of the Declaration of Independence, our Dunlap Broadside, and compare two draft copies of the United States Constitution.

Artisans' Village

Visitors have the opportunity to interact with more than 15 costumed interpreters in our Artisans’ Village sponsored by the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts.
