Help preserve NH history and inspire civic engagement in youth.

When the founders of our nation drafted the Constitution, civic engagement was foremost in their minds. A government for the people had to be governed by the people.
Fast forward 240 years, though, and civic engagement is at an all-time low. With two working drafts of the Constitution and other historical items, including handwritten letters by none other than George Washington himself, the American Independence Museum is in a unique position to educate today’s youth about history and inspire civic engagement in a profound way.
We need your help to achieve our goals.
A nonprofit entity that does not receive any state or federal funding to preserve its collection or develop educational programming, the American Independence Museum presents three opportunities for investment to close out 2016. Your support today will help us achieve our fundraising goal for 2016 and position us for growth in 2017 and beyond.

History is not just in our past. It happens every day. Help the American Independence Museum preserve our history and inspire civic engagement. Support us today and help tell our nation’s story.

Collections and Archives items are in many cases more than 250 years old. These precious artifacts require a tremendous amount of care and many need conservation.

Increasingly, history museums with world-class collections are turning to the Internet to educate those near and far. With a collection exceeding 6,000+ items, the American Independence Museum has tremendous potential, but only so much room for exhibits and displays.

Through programs and exhibits which seek to inspire our visitor in the founding of our Nation and the great documents which are the underpinning of who we are as Americans, we can help to engage a new generation of Americans in the future of our country.
