When you make a financial contribution to the American Independence Museum, you support our mission AND our values of inclusiveness, discovery, and innovation, captured in our organizational theme, We Are One

Thank you for believing in the American Independence Museum’s mission to preserve history, inspire learning, and foster community. Your support has sustained AIM as a place where all are welcome to honor our revolutionary heritage and engage in the ongoing work of democracy.

In 2024, we’ve expanded accessibility with new digital-assistance technology and celebrated history through vibrant community events, including the annual American Independence Festival. However, as stewards of the centuries-old Ladd-Gilman House and Folsom Tavern, we face critical preservation needs to ensure these landmarks endure for future generations.

With a goal of raising $100,000, your contribution will directly support this vital work and position AIM as a statewide leader as we prepare for America’s 250th anniversary. Together, we can safeguard our nation’s history and inspire a brighter, more inclusive future.

2023 Highlight #1

Preserving History

Preservation requires constant upkeep and maintenance on both our historic structures, a 24/7 endeavor that resulted in a roof replacement on Folsom Tavern (c. 1775) earlier this year.

Educating Children & Youth

We educate children and youth through meaningful programs that present history in broad and relevant contexts. History is a study in themes and patterns of behavior that provide insight(s) into who we are (becoming) as a people and nation.

Building Community

2026 may be a little more than 2 years away, but the 250th anniversary of our nation’s founding is foremost in our minds and part of our planning process for the future. To embrace this future, we must appreciate and understand our history.
