Educating The Community
Independence relies on the passionate engagement of all citizens.
EDUCATING THE COMMUNITY seeks to develop and deliver meaningful historic educational programs for all ages.
For more information on our educational programs, contact our Education and Events Manager Catherine Meinen.
Youth Education
For youth, this includes experiential programs as well as structured education with comprehensive curricula and field trips. Crafted for age groups five to 18, these materials and resources go beyond traditional methods, offering a well-rounded and holistic educational experience both on-site and in schools. Field trips, summer camps, homeschool programs, and the traveling trunk program are all designed to bring history alive for children.
Adult Education
For adults, the Museum seeks to craft opportunities for community-building through events such as Beer for History, as well as more formal educational programs such as the Linda Jones Adult Traveling Trunk program, which serves as a dynamic and interactive platform infused with historical significance. This mobile and flexible approach allows the initiative to reach older adults in various settings and communities. This hands-on program includes a curated collection of materials, activities, and resources that not only cater to the interests and well-being of older adults but also integrate elements of Revolutionary History, providing a unique and enriching historical context.
