Beer for History is sponsored by

Founded in 1989, HPG&R has deep roots in Portsmouth, Exeter and the surrounding area. Sponsors of last year’s first Beer for History, HPG&R is excited to once again partner with the museum and local brewers to present a unique community event that will feature beer tastings, light fare, fun activities (Escape the Room, Historical Trivia and Pub Games), and more!

“We are excited to sponsor this series, which brings the community together in a spirit of festive fun,” said HPG&R Attorney Kevin Baum, who is also an Exeter resident. “Local beer and food in a great spot in downtown Exeter–you cannot go wrong.”

Have a beer for history!

Join us at historic Folsom Tavern (c.1775) in downtown Exeter at 164 Water Street for an evening with local craft brewers!

Attend one or all three!

Brewers

Neighborhood Beer Co. (August 17)

7th Settlement Brewery (September 14)

Earth Eagle Brewings (October 12)

Programs

Escape the Room (August 17)

Historical Trivia (September 14)

Pub Games (October 12)

At each event, the featured brewer will pour three of their beers, including one of their most popular beers. Brewers are looking for feedback, too–especially for beers that might use an historic recipe or have an historic influence. This is a chance to talk with the brewers themselves!  Different programming will be on tap at each event as we bring the historic Folsom Tavern to life such as a site specific Escape Room, Tavern Trivia to test your revolutionary knowledge, or Colonial Tavern Games.* In addition to beer, light snacks and water will be available.

*Programming is subject to change.
